What I have been banging on about this week…

MY STORY OVER AT EVE

How I met the love of my life…

I remember the first time I saw you. From the moment I set eyes on you across a crowded store I knew I had to have you.

Others had come and gone, but none like you. You were a rare mixture of strong and steady but soft and firm. You made me feel so comfortable and relaxed.

So I took you home and we spent the whole night together.  I nestled across you and you responded to the ‘individual contours of my body’ – just like you had promised…

To find out how I met the love of my life while a severely sleep-deprived mother-of-two you read the full article here…

WHY MUMS MAKE BRILLIANT EMPLOYEES! Can you work well under pressure? Do you have the ability to do ten things at once, with one hand, on barely any sleep? Then you are probably a parent!  I’ve written seven reasons why you should employ a mum over here!

CONFESSIONS OF SNORER’S WIFE: My husband snores. Not ordinary snore but THIS. Every. Single Night.

I love my husband. But some nights that love turns to seething, irrational hatred that makes me want to KILL him.  Not because I am a psychopath. But because his insanely loud snoring keeps me awake…

I confess my not very nice thoughts about him here.

WHAT KIND OF PARENT ARE YOU?  I created my first (very silly) Internet QUIZ!! Just for fun – find out what kid of parent you are HERE!

DUMMYGATE…

There are FOUR million children living in poverty in the UK. But there are kids out there using DUMMIES. That’s the BIG problem. Seriously!?  So I was on Jeremy Vine talking about the ridiculous dummy row on Thursday with that ‘expert’ who criticised the Beckhams for giving their four-year-old daughter a dummy. My four-year-old uses a dummy when she needs (and has brilliant speech FYI)  so I relished the chance to tell Ms Byham-Cook to suck it up.. so feel free to listen  here..

tipsTIP #3: Your baby may or may not sleep for longer than an hour at a time. He may barely sleep at all or sleep all day long. He may sleep through the night at three weeks; he may not sleep through the night for three years. Either way, he will learn to sleep through the night eventually. And you will learn not to sleep through the night eventually. So stock up on the coffee, invest in some comfortable pyjamas and try not to panic!

STUFF TO MAKE SLEEP-DEPRIVED PARENTING A BIT EASIER…

played with…

I don’t normally do reviews but I have a soft spot for Sylvanian Families as they were my favourites as a kid!  We tried a few products as part of the toys 30th Anniversary celebrations! My girls fell in love with the Squirrel family and spent a good hour (this is a lot for my two!) pushing them around the house in their car! They are a fantastic way to get little ones using their imagination and to keep them quiet for long enough for us to enjoy a hot cup of tea!  Miffy the Bunny also celebrates her 60th birthday this year so we also read a couple of the Dick Bruna books. They are bright, lively books- probably best for babies and younger toddlers.
