Thank you. The thing is my kids went through this phase (when i say phase i mean A YEAR) of hating everyone except family. Especially men – so a tongue out when they were already upset would send them absolutely mental!

So true – why do people do that? Erm, my son is in a blinding rage, do you really think a random stranger not observing personal boundaries pulling a frankly frightening face is going to make him stop, smile sweetly and re-evaluate his attitude? It won’t.
I agree, an understanding smile is just the ticket – no judgement, no ‘advice’ – doh am I meant to feed him then? – just being nice.
